- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★We've banked at Truity for years now and have had consistently great experiences. We switched from a traditional bank because of their ridiculous fees for checking and savings. We have NEVER been charged any sort of fee for transfers, checks, account maintenance or using an out of network ATM (the $3.00 charge appears on our monthly statement but the reimbursement credit is also always there). They make doing business with them easy. Their customer service is top notch! Friendly, professional and knowledgeable is their standard and they have consistently met or exceeded that goal in every transaction. A special shout out to Emily B. In Lawrence! - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I joined this credit union when they called themselves the KU credit union because I thought there was some legitimate membership affiliation to KU. It turns out that was a misrepresentation. So, they changed their name to, as ironic as it is, Truity. I thought credit unions were suppose to be for the benefit of their members as apposed to a profiteering bank. So far, I don't see the advantage of using this credit union over a normal bank. Compared to my other two regular banks I have accounts with, Truity is very "fee happy". They charge fees for everything. My bank does not charge a fee for overdraft protection transfers between my own accounts, but Truity does charge a fee for it. My bank does not charge a fee for cashiers checks, but Truity does charge a fee for it. Their auto loan rates are not any better than any random bank.
